From the Author:
This book is a tool for grieving children and parents dealing with terminal illness and the loss of a loved one. The beginning of this book is a children’s story, highlighting various stages of grief. The final portion of this book concludes with a journal. The journal is used to record the bereaved child’s feelings while creating their very own memory book. It can be therapeutic for a child to honor the memory of a loved one in this way. Over time, children may refer back to this book as they transition into accepting their loss. Every child, person, and family grieves in their
own way and in their own time. The reader may use the book over the course of several months or years during their healing process. In addition to Bibliotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Bereavement Support Group may be helpful for those needing support.
Shawn Michelle Gordon, LCSW is Owner and Clinical Supervisor of Trinity Harbor Therapeutic Services, Inc. located in Coral Springs, Florida.
